Meet The Doctors


Michael F. Maguire, MD completed his undergraduate degree at Creighton University and attended the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. He then completed his Orthopedic surgery training at the University of California, San Diego and Children’s Hospital San Diego. Dr. Maguire completed his pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the University of Utah Primary Children’s Medical Center, and the Shriner’s Hospital, Salt Lake City. He is married with three daughters and has been in practice in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties for over 16 years. Dr. Maguire’s areas of special interest include hip dysplasia, scoliosis, clubfoot, limb lengthening, neuromuscular disease, and pediatric trauma.

Sean D. Early, MD earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Arizona and his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. His Orthopedic surgery residency was at the University of Southern California and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Early completed his pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the University of California San Diego and Children’s Hospital San Diego. Prior to relocating to the Central Coast he was in practice at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for 3 years.

Dr. Early is married and has 2 daughters and a son.  They enjoy a number of outdoor activities as a family including tennis, running, softball, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, snowboarding, and skiing.

Dr. Early’s areas of special interest include scoliosis and other spinal deformity, child and adolescent sports injuries, hip dysplasia, neuromuscular disease, pediatric trauma, and minimally invasive surgery.

Brock Rutherford began his medical education as an athletic trainer, completing his bachelors degree at Humboldt State University. He then went on to complete a masters degree in kinesiology and sports medicine at California State University Fullerton. Brock practiced as a certified athletic trainer for 14 years before returning to school and earning a physician assistant degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. 

Brock has a broad range of experience in sports medicine including youth sports, collegiate athletics and professional soccer. As a physician assistant Brock has a passion for pediatrics and orthopedics, making him an excellent addition to our practice.
